Monument 1. A desert landscape depicting a monumental sculpture of Albrecht Durer’s praying hands. The monument is abandoned and submerged in the sand. This is the first of a series of large pastel works dealing with the decay of ideas and cultural iconography of identity towards the end of the 20th century.
