ABOUT THE ARTIST
Frederik Eksteen born in 1973. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Pretoria and has exhibiting both locally and internationally as well as won several awards including the Judges’ Prize in the Sasol New Signatures competition.
Eksteen’s art is visually complex and conceptually layered, often referencing art historical traditions, while simultaneously harnessing new technology. He employs a blend of techniques and genres to speak to the underlying and often hidden mechanisms of images.
His work is represented in several prominent collections, including that of the Pretoria Art Museum, University of Pretoria, UNISA, Sasol, ABSA and MTN.
