Madikotsi Mummy Khumalo was born in the Vaal triangle, Sebokeng. She was raised by her mother hence she embraces the strength and power of females in her works, after her matric she took private art classes to hone her talent. Madikotsi studied entrepreneurship at the Vaal University of Technology, she then enrolled with Artist Proof Studio to study professional print-making for 3 years, she`s also a part time art docent at Wits Art Museum in Johannesburg and currently practicing animation with Tshimologo Technology Center in Braamfontein.
Khumalo`s has participated in a number of exhibitions in and out of her home (Vaal). In 2019 she was selected to exhibit at the Johannesburg Art Fair in Sandton South Africa and was also part of a group exhibition called `Resist` at Strauss & Co in collaboration with Artist Proof Studio, from then she has been in group exhibitions around Johannesburg and Cape Town.
