ABOUT THE ARTIST
Amanda Blokker was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1970 and lives there to date. She was first introduced to art at The Technicon of Pretoria where she studied Graphic Design. After being involved in Screen Printing for a few years, she took an interest in Painting.
Self exploration and determination by mainly studying the Old Masters, especially the Impressionists, is key to the development of her painting abilities. Painting in oils has been an absolute favourite and ongoing learning experience to this artist. Amanda has participated in numerous group exhibitions at galleries in Gauteng (including FirstRand Bank 2018 and 2019), and has had 7 solo exhibitions.
