ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Bayonne, France in 1962, his childhood in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, finished his schooling at NSA in South Africa, worked in Advertising for 9 years in Johannesburg. Self-taught, he started painting full time in 1989. His works consist of large landscapes and topographical / architectural works which he re-interprets into figures and symbols.
Duplan is represented in numerous collections including: UNISA, UJ,Old Mutual, Webber Wentzel, Hollards, Mbombela Council, IBM SA, Bellingham, Rooth & Wessels, Media 24, Spier and MAP Richmond.
He works from his studio in Pretoria.
