ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1969, Tim Foulds studied Fine art at the Vaal Triangle University
of Technology majoring in printmaking, and Professional
Lithography at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico, USA in
1997. In 1999 Foulds spent eight months working for the Gorée
Institute’s Cultural Programme on Gorée Island, Senegal.
Tim was involved in printing the inaugural print portfolio
titled “Kawral”, which means “togetherness”. The portfolio
consists of 12 black-and-white etchings by the artists Breyten
Breytenbach (South Africa), Souleymane Keita (Senegal) and
Melvin Edwards (USA).
